PROMOTES FROM WITHIN

Smedvig Capital, ("Smedvig" or "the Company") the London-based private equity company active in development capital for growth businesses, is pleased to announce that Alistair Cairns has been made a Managing Director and Jordan Mayo has been promoted to Senior Associate.

Alistair joined Smedvig in 1999 and since then has been actively involved leading transactions and managing projects to support Smedvig's portfolio companies. He is on the boards of My Home Move, PDV Limited, FGS Capital and Lovejuice and has also been actively involved with Acell, Blueheath, and Clearvision. He also leads Smedvig Capital's new investments into other private equity funds.

Prior to joining Smedvig Capital, Alistair was a consultant in the London office of Bain & Company where he advised management teams on business unit and corporate strategy and conducted commercial and strategic due diligence for private equity firms. Before Bain, Alistair worked in New York and London for Morgan Stanley in corporate finance and equity capital markets. Alistair has an MBA from INSEAD.

Jordan joined the team at Smedvig in 2005. Jordan has been actively involved in due diligence of new investments and supporting management teams of portfolio companies. He is an observer on the boards of My Home Move and Tuskerdirect, and works closely with the management of Blueheath and Exchange Group on a range of projects which have included new market entry strategies, mergers and acquisitions, and logistics optimization.

Before joining Smedvig, Jordan also worked at Bain & Company where he worked on major European buyouts with leading private equity funds. He also worked on post merger integration, corporate turnaround and other strategy projects for clients in the business services, information technology and manufacturing industries in London and New York. Prior to Bain, he was co-founder of revise.it, an online education business, and co-founder of MinuteHand Publications, a publisher of revision materials, which was sold to a major publishing house in 1999. Jordan has a first class honours degree in Economics and Management from Oxford University.
